Ádám Erzsébet was a Hungarian actress, born in 1947, Târgu Mureș, Mureș, Romania. Electrecord is a Romanian label founded in 1932, taken over by the state in the communist era, during which time it was the only label in the country. The company became insolvent in 2018, although was relaunched in in 2020. There is a website, although it is not clear if they are releasing any new music.
I bought this record from a shop called Dusty Sounds in Cluj-Napoca, on holiday in August this year and wrote a bit about the shop in a previous post. It’s a great shop, and the guy running it was good for a chat, especially when I told him we’d come from the UK via train.
Dusty Sounds Instagram and Facebook. Neither of these are updated, but there are some good pics of the shop.
The record itself is from 1985, and is rather lovely, not unlike some of Márta Sebestyén’s music. Ádám Erzsébet sadly died quite young in 2014, there is a little of her music on streaming platforms, but not this album. Szerelem, Szerelem means ‘Love, Love”
